Wow. Reading through all that is sad. Pride is so blinding, isn’t it? Sadly, I was once not very far from where ChukP is. I hope and pray that God reveals Himself to ChukP the way that He has to you and me. It really is about relationship, not rules. (oh wait, that means I’m a rebel who doesn’t want to submit to authroity and wants to make all my own rules….. sigh.)
Yeah… I think I briefly mentioned that I once aligned myself with ChukP’s manner of thinking. I grew up in the Fundamentalist south, and started into IBLP and ATI at an early age. It wasn’t long before I considered myself to have a handle on the world. I knew it all and had all the answers, the right answers - Mr. Gothard told me so.
It started when what Mr. Gothard said didn’t line up in practice, and then a 5 year bout with depression and addiction, topped with a two-year stay at HQ really completed the journey into the light.
Now I’m having to work on balance, because my goal is not to hate IBLP, much as I dislike the organisation.

Well, I’m about sick after reading Chucks posts. Christ did not free us so that we could go around bashing others with our own genetically altered version of Christianity. We have been set free so that we may minister to others; being only led by God and honor. Even Christ did not follow all the Law. For there were times that the morally right, and honorable thing to do was break the Law; and the last I checked my Bible we were supposed to follow the examples of Christ as he was; not to create our own little “Budda Jesus”.
